Comann Coimhearsnachd Chàrlabhaigh is seeking to recruit an energetic and self-motivated Gaelic speaker to deliver a comprehensive Gaelic policy and social and cultural activities in the new Carloway Community Centre (opening late summer 2022).
While the Gaelic language remains strong in the Carloway area and there is considerable pride in our Gaelic history and heritage, we fully recognise the fragility of these assets in our community. With the opening of our new Community Centre we have an opportunity to build on our strengths and develop a Gaelic language and culture policy to take us forward.
Your role will be to promote the use of Gaelic in everyday settings at the refurbished Carloway Community Centre, to provide opportunities for people to learn the Gaelic language and to engage locals and visitors in Gaelic language and culture through activities and events. It is essential that candidates are fluent in Gaelic (verbal and written) and have excellent people and communication skills.
