What were you doing before you started your apprenticeship?
“I left school and went to Glasgow Caledonian University for 2 years to study Environmental Management before coming home because of Covid. I then started working in Harris House Care Home.”

What made you want to do your apprenticeship?
“It seemed like the next step to get me into this career, to find out more about social care, I didn’t really know much at all about it.”

How have you found your apprenticeship so far?
“I have found it very interesting, different to what I did before, it’s been useful to pick up different things.”
What tasks do you complete on an average day?
“I support residents with their individual care and support needs, every day is different. “
What do you hope to do when you finish your apprenticeship?
“I am starting a Nursing Degree Course in September 2022.”
What would you say to someone interested in the same apprenticeship?
“I would encourage them to go for it. I was a bit apprehensive at first but it was the best decision for me.”
